Education School Project

SALVATION COMMUNITY SCHOOL (Act 4:12) was established in 2009 with a vision to give education to orphans and poor children whose parents died of HIV/AIDS and other natural diseases. The school runs from Kindergarten (Nursery) to grade 7 with a total of 200 Children. We realized the need for a school because of the increasing number of orphans and needy children in this community, we thought that the only way we could help these children is to give them education in a way to shape their future. Whenever education promotes children’s dignity- their innate belief that they have a place in the world and a contribution to make to it- a new generation of young people can play an active Role in creating healthier families stronger.
This school is a response to the cry of guardians whose younger orphans had no opportunity to have  education  to fight uneducated children  in the community.
The school’s curriculum is designed to provide a solid academic foundation to prepare children to succeed in secondary and higher-education institutions.

Salvation Community School’s Early Childhood program focuses on the development of the whole child. The School provides a nurturing and stimulating environment, allowing children to discover their world and become life-long learners.
At our Nursery School playing is not forbidden, it is encouraged. We believe playing stimulates learning and creativity more than copying words and numbers from the blackboard. Our classrooms are filled with toys, posters, puzzles and eager to learn students.
At our Primary School we focus on the total development of the child: academic, creative, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Our library is stocked with books and we also organize out-of-the-classroom activities like sports, debates, quizzes and outings.
Children learn practical, living skills and develop muscular coordination, physical independence, and powers of concentration.

Our comprehensive curriculum provides children with opportunities to develop when they are ready, beginning as early as age three. In a carefully prepared environment, scaled to children’s spiritual, mental, social, and physical development, naturally inquisitive children are free . . .
To touch, to handle, to rearrange, to explore, to experiment, to observe, to discover the world and themselves.
In these activities and others, children learn by doing. They have a sense of freedom within the structure of class ground rules. They can choose to work alone or with others, and they can work at their own pace. As a result, children are never penalized if they need extra time for a project, and they are never forced to mark time if they progress quickly.

Secondary children

We have 15 pioneers GHI is sponsoring into different secondary schools to attain good education, but the demand is too high for other children to join secondary education.
We desire to raise these children in a Christian environment. These children are psychologically traumatized who need to be rehabilitated in the society. We therefore seek for your philanthropic support and prayer to do what we could to make GHI/ SALVATION COMMUNITY SCHOOL   a better place to live.
