GOOD HOPE INITIATIVE is seeking an organized and team-oriented intern for a non-paid internship position. We are seeking an individual who enjoys multi-tasking and a lively work environment. Above all, we seek an individual who will be passionate about our mission and education development in Uganda / Africa.

Research Internship is aiming to shape scholars to have good information from children and people of Africa. Applicants will gain invaluable experience interning with GHI in Uganda, carrying out ground breaking research into poverty within the community, making policy recommendations based on their findings. By shaping our approaches, your Research will have a tangible impact on the lives of thousands!

To Research in Africa with GHI Researchers gain an opportunity to expand their research skills and experience base and grow a unique insight into the Development, Education and Charity sectors. Researchers will also experience genuine Africa at its most inspiring and provoking. The research placement is a real chance for applicants to apply their leadership, teamwork and problem solving skills whilst having a long-lasting, tangible impact in one of the poorest parts of the world.

Applicants will be considered from backgrounds in a range of Masters, Degree, and Certificate programs, both current students and recent graduates. 

GHI will equip researcher with the relevant skills required to conduct the research specific to the community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Children’s letter writing
  2. Provision major donor development and solicitation
  3. Research and petition partnerships with other organizations
  4. Assist with special fundraising events
  5. Involve corresponding with Ugandan team to obtain desired information
  6. Help grant writers in collecting desired information
  7. Assist administer the charity’s various fundraising programs

Additional related duties as needed

  1. Experience and Skills
  2. Strong knowledge of the nonprofit sector or willingness to learn through research
  3. Excellent organization and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  4. Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  5. Able to work cooperatively in a team environment both inside and outside the organization
  6. Successful at time management and meeting tight deadlines
  7. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  8. Available for occasional evening and weekend work

Location: Uganda
Duration: Opportunity is ongoing; start/end dates are negotiable
Time Commitment: 30 hours/week
Stipend: None/Unpaid intern
